KLS Law has worked with insurers and MGAs for over 25 years, gathering a wealth of knowledge and experience in key areas of law.
As well as being instructed directly, KLS Law works with the Connexus Group to provide a fully seamless service from FNOL to subrogation utilising our expertise only where it is really required to ensure a favourable and cost effective outcome.
Details of our specific areas of expertise appear below but in the first instance we set out our approach to all cases to provide context to the services we provide.
At KLS we employ experienced staff from legal, digital, insurance and cost settlement backgrounds who work together in a proactive manner to provide a swift and cost effective resolution to claims.
We are a national full service law firm and we provide our services to insurers, MGAs and London market operations as well as Lloyds’ syndicates.
We offer a full service proposition in the areas of motor claims, household and casualty (predominantly Employer’s Liability, Public Liability and Professional Indemnity claims). Together with our partners at the Connexus Group, we provide all services including FNOL, subrogation and legal defence of claims.
We have a specialist large loss team who focus on indemnity, policy interpretation and early reserving of large loss claims. This puts insurers and MGAs in a position to make important indemnity decisions swiftly and to decide on a case management programme that will ensure that the approach taken at the beginning of the claim can be appropriately sustained throughout the life of that claim. That is, we adopt a ‘get it right first time’ approach.
We also have an experienced internal costs team that manage the defence of claims for costs, preparing points of dispute and attending hearings.
The team offers competitive commercial terms geared to and measured on its success.
KLS Law has obtained ISO 27001 accreditation.
KLS Law have a large loss team to manage claims with a value of £100,000+.
The team is made up of a senior claims adjuster with over 25 years’ experience supported by key professionals including senior lawyers, engineers, an accountant and a medical expert.
The team is experienced in dealing with four key areas; motor, household, property and casualty claims.
We will provide a preliminary report within 7 days of the incident with written recommendations.
As repudiation can cause reputational damage if there are issues or concerns these need to be investigated thoroughly protecting the insurers/reinsurers’ position but ensuring the matter is dealt with in a firm but subtle way to avoid reputational damage to any party whilst we keep treating customers fairly (TCF) at the forefront of the enquiry.
In relation to liability, the investigation and report will be focused on outlining the key issues to be investigated, the nature of the experts that will be required and an early indication will be provided on the merits and cost of those investigations so the insurer/reinsurer can decide whether to proceed.
In relation to quantum the need for an early consideration of reserving is paramount in these cases and this will be attended to.
The other element is early intervention to keep the cost of claims down.
We ensure third parties are contacted and services offered be that early repair of property damage, vehicle repair or rehabilitation to assist injured parties.
In our experience this early intervention and “cutting through the red tape” requires knowledge, confidence and know how. Too many law firms preserve their position and “sit on the fence” with regard to the advice they offer.
We accept that insurers/reinsurers may take a different view but early advice helps form a tactically sound approach to large claims and isolating them for early investigation and sound decision making is key.
KLS Law have built an industry leading proposition working alongside the Connexus Group.
This provides an innovative and flexible claims proposition with a unique, seamless customer journey. It also makes audit and control simple and cost effective.
The service is delivered by industry experienced claims professionals and lawyers working in tandem to mitigate risk and cost, protecting the reputation of its clients.
Although KLS Law work for a number of leading insurers it keeps a low profile and works behind insurance and MGA brands in partnership, complementing internal services and providing support and advice where most required.
As well as adhering to robust service levels, KLS Law are taking advantage of fraud technology and continue to update insurers and MGAs according to new innovations.
In-house developers and data analysts provide continuous support upgrading software and working with insurers and MGAs to improve performance and achieve better results.
An ethical attitude to the provision of services and a collaborative approach has seen us grow significantly in recent years.
This enables us to provide a more tailored approach to meet your requirements rather than a “pile it high” volume approach, which does not suit certain lines of business where quality customer service underpinned by state of the art technology is required.
